Installing Tubes Into Paint Shop Pro Version 6 & 7

Exporting or installing tubes into PSP one at a time can be a real tiresome task. Remember you cannot simply copy a downloaded tube into the Tube folder in PSP. It has to be EXPORTED into PSP. All tubes found on www.psp-tubes.com are not zipped, (zipping .tub or .psp files makes little or no difference). If you have any downloaded tubes that have been zipped, you will need to unzip them with a programme like WinZip which you can get at www.winzip.com
  STEP ONE

Open PSP and point your cursor to FILE and then click on BROWSE

  STEP TWO

On the left hand side in the browser, navigate to where you have saved your (unzipped) tubes, on the right hand side you will see a thumbnail view of the tubes. You can see at the top of the image that my tubes were saved to c:/Downloads/Tubes/African

STEP THREE

If you want to install more than one tube, single left click on any thumbnail image on the right hand side of the browser. *Hold down the CTRL key and then press A on your keyboard, now all the thumbnails are selected.*

Press the ENTER key on your keyboard, which will open all the selected thumbnails as .tub images in PSP.

(If you only want to install a single tube - omit the instructions between the asterisks, and simply double click on the thumbnail of the tube you want to install.
Or
If you want to install selective tubes - hold down the CTRL key and choose the tubes by single clicking on the desired thumbnails and then hit the Enter Key.)

STEP FOUR

At this point, all the images are now open "Full Screen" I prefer to click on the RESTORE button, note where the black arrow is pointing in the image on the right.

STEP FIVE

Now you will be able to see all the tubes, layered one over the other with the Browser window right at the back.

STEP SIX

To get to the Export Picture Tube box as viewed on the right, you have two options. You can either point your cursor to FILE / EXPORT / PICTURE TUBE and then click in the TUBE NAME field

....OR....

Simply HOLD down the ALT key and then type the following while depressing the ALT key: F T P U and that will bring you to the TUBE NAME field with many less tedious mouse clicks!!
Then click on the OK button and your tube will have been exported into PSP and ready to use.

STEP SEVEN

Open a new image, and then clcik on the TUBE TOOL and you will now see the tube in the drop down list. Click on the tube you want to use, change the percentage if desired, click in your new image and your tube will be displayed.
