Hi Tubers It has been an absolute AGE since my last newsletter. I was not joking when I told you at signup that I would not be flooding your email box with useless junk :-)) It has been in a very hectic period in the last few months, and I have been busy with training courses, and have also been away from home for a while, hence the sparse newsletters. I also had my "BIG 40" last weekend ... and according to my wife I now have to start taking things easier now that "I am getting old" .... its going to be a very small Christmas present for her this year ... lololol. As always I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new members, and to our many new readers, that have joined recently. I hope you have a lot of fun with our tubes. To all of our members who celebrate thanksgiving ... we here at PSP TUBES dot COM would like to wish you and your family a wonderful and safe thanksgiving holiday. To the readers that have emailed me in the past few weeks saying that they were missing reading the newsletter and enquiring when the new issue was coming out ... thank you for taking the time to mail me. The interest in tubes appears to be growing daily and we have more than 2600 people receiving this newsletter. Now that I am back in the driving seat we should be seeing more regular issues. |

Tube News Since my last issue there have been 2 new themes that have been uploaded to the site ... Halloween and Thanksgiving. New tubes have also been added to several of the other exisiting themes. We do not celebrate either of these holidays out here in South Africa, and tubes in these themes are not what we are used to making. So I hope you found Carolines efforts satisfactory and have had a lot of fun with them :-) At the moment Caroline is busy making some more Christmas tubes to add to the existing Christmas collection, so please keep an eye out for those. Remember, new tubes are uploaded most Fridays ... and, as always .. the newest tubes can be quickly and easily grabbed from the "Members Newest Tubes" page in the members area. We are at a bit of a crossroads right now, and Barry and Caroline are looking to focus their efforts this coming year to provide more of what our members are looking for. We would like to know what you want to see in the coming year ... more tubes in the existing themes .. or more themes. If you would like to see more themes then please click here to vote. General Site News Affiliate Program Our affiliate program is moving along nicely, and we are now up to 41 affiliates. This month has seen quite an increase in commissions earned by our affiliates, and I suspect this may improve even further in the run up to the Christmas period. The program is open to EVERYONE who has a website and that would like to join. All the info at http://www.psp-tubes.com/affiliate-zone/ . Its a UNIQUE opportunity for you to join a "tube related" affiliate program, that offers HIGH QUALITY "tube related" content to your site visitors. After all .. thats why they come to your site in the first place :-) Commissions are a generous 25%.
Competition The competition that we launched a few months ago has been cancelled. We did not receive any entries. We still think that competitions are fun and so we are going to try once more before abandoning the idea :-)) See below for all the details.
Members Upload Area I have received quite a few enquiries from members/visitors as to why we do not have an area of the website for them to upload tubes of their own to share. We had actually given this idea some serious thought at the beginning of the year, and decided to abandon it. We do recognise that it would be a whole lot of fun ... but, as it always does in the graphics world, the threat of copyright infringement reared its ugly head and is the reason why we decided not to.
Membership as a Christmas gift If you have friends who are graphically inclined, then membership to our site could make a nice, original Christmas gift. If you would like to send memberships as gifts then please feel free to email me and I can organise it for you, quickly and easily. I can even do it anonymously for you if you wish. This isn't limited just to Christmas gifts ... it makes a nice present for any special occasion :-)

Featured Site of the Week Please send me sites that you think deserve to be featured here, and shared with our readers. It does not have to be your own web site.
Angelic Designs So far I have been mentioning sites of the "big guns" like pspug.org, Karens Tube Index, etc etc ... however, there are also some real gems out there belonging to us "smaller guys" :-) The site I would like to mention today belongs to Tracy, who also happens to be one of our life members. Tracy's site contains something for everyone. Tubes, email stationery, floaters, Superblade Pro presets, greeting cards, websets, to mention just a few. I am a very big fan of mouse drawn tubes, and there are plenty to be found on the site. Having watched Barry and Caroline I have an appreciation of just how much effort goes into producing them. In addition to all the free stuff on her site, Tracy also has a membership area (at a very reasonable fee), and also produces all her work onto CD-ROM. I hope you pop across and pay her a visit. |

Resizing Tubes When resizing tubes: Click on Image, Resize, then for Resize type select Bicubic Resample. This will keep the graphic intact and you most likely will not have to sharpen your graphic afterwards.

Christmas Compo Design a "Christmas scene" desktop wallpaper. Image is to be 800x600 pixels. Image is to be submitted as a compressed JPEG format with the file size not to be larger than 300Kb. You may enter a maximum of 3 different wallpapers into the competition. The competition is open to everybody. All images to be submitted by midnight (EST) on 13th December by email to webmaster@psp-tubes.com On 14th December we will then upload ALL the images received onto a new web page on our site ... and provide a mechanism for our web site visitors to vote for the winner. One vote per email address. Voting will close on the 23rd December. The winner will be notified on the 24th December. The winner will receive a 1 year subscription to our members site. Existing members will have the 1 year added to their exisiting membership period. In the event of a tie for first place .. multiple prizes will be awarded.

The End I have saved some of the good stuff until last :-) PSP-TUBES dot COM is now 1 year old. My how the time has flown by. It seems like just a few weeks ago that we were doing everything we could to get this project off the ground. I would like to personally thank each and every person that has visited our site in the past ... and I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to EVERYONE who has ever purchased a membership with us. I must admit that when we started we didn't in our wildest imagination ever see our site achieving its current 4500 visitors per day in our very first year. Without your very kind support I think we would have given up long ago :-)
