A WARM welcome to our new members and mailing list subscribers that have joined during the last week. I hope you enjoy your stay here with us.

There is no new site news to report today, the latest tubes are all uploaded and the 3 of us here are getting ready for a 4 day holiday weekend :-)

As there is no PSP stuff to mention I would like to use this opportunity to invite you to join with us in a VERY special project. Never a dull moment on this mailing list .. *grin*

Many of you may have heard about the SETI@HOME project. Essentially the UNUSED SPARE POWER of thousands of home PC's just like yours and mine are harnessed together to assist in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Kind of like making 1 humungous super computer out of tens of thousands of little ones.

Well, there is a similar project going on at the moment, called FOLDING@HOME being run by Stanford University, which I personally think is more important than extraterrestrial life .. and that is the fight against dread disease right here on earth. Diseases like Alzheimers, AIDS etc etc.

The process uses the IDLE time of the CPU in your PC .. so it does not slow your PC down at all. The software is obviously free .. and exceptionally easy to install. People with permanent connections to the Internet, like cable and DSL, find it easier to use .. although it works with modems as well.

We have created a team called PSP-TUBES_dot_COM (team number 2781) .. and we are hoping that many of our members and readers will join our team with us. We can have up to 1000 members. Our office will be closed over the Easter period, and we will be back here at the "salt mine" on Tuesday morning.
