Hi Tubers

I hope you are having a good friday. Out here in South Africa the temperature this afternoon is about 30 celcius (about 90 farenheit I think) and we are about 300 meters from the sea so the humidity is very high. It definitely is "fry"day here :-))

We had an sad mishap late last month with the demise of a very good friend ... Barry's hard drive. When it died to took with it all the new tubes that he and Caroline had been working on. We sent it to one of these data recovery companies ... but after about an hour of mouth-to-disk resucitation and some electric shock treatment it was pronounced dead. At less than 2 months old we all agree here that it was very young to suffer this fate. Barry and Caroline are busy remaking the tubes, and we will be uploading some more fairly soon :-)

According to our log files the new chat page was popular and got plenty visitors. I think the main problem is that we are all from such diverse time zones that its almost impossible for us all to be there at the same time. We will try and establish a time that will be convenient for many of us and publish it via the mailing list, that way several people may arrive at the same time and get the ball rolling. Many of our non-members have expressed an interest in seeing what is in the members area. I could tell you how good the psp tubes are until I am blue in the face, but, it is difficult to expect somebody to buy something they have not seen :-) Composite images built using the tubes from the members area have been on our "to-do list" for a while, but we have always given priority to making the tubes instead. Barry has now made the first of these composite images (can be seen at the bottom of the free Christmas tubes page http://www.psp-tubes.com/christmas_tubes.asp ). Caroline will be building some more over the next week or so for some of the other themes.

A new feature on the web site is a small shopping mall. We have brought together the various membership options, and we have also made some "hot picks" from the Amazon.Com web site - some of the best PSP books, and for the Christmas period some of the best DVD's, Harry Potter items for the kids, etc. The shopping is safe and secure and is handled by Amazon, or our own card processor ( 2checkout.com ) on their ssl secure servers. It is you "guys" that has helped to get our web site to more than 30000 page views per month, and more than 12000 tubes downloaded in only our second month as a professionally hosted "pay-site". Our growth in web site visitors is almost 15% per week at the moment. Just goes to show that nobody minds paying for quality, provided the price is good and quality is what is offered :-))) And, we are DEFINITELY here to stay :-)))
